It is a great day to visit your father on fathers day and take him a gift. Tell him you love him. However, it should be everyday. I enjoyed reading your great poem. The guy in the picture looks sad while holding a flower. Maybe he is thinking about his own father, who has probably been deceased for sometime. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks, Cindy. Sorry for the loss of your dad. My wife and I have both lost our parents and still reflect on them often with our kids.

I worry this might be true in many cases, that fathers only get spoken to or appreciated one day each year. Is it too polarising - does giving us a day for it also give us an excuse not to do it the rest of the year?
