I enjoyed reading this post, as it is well written, drafted, and presented.
You did a great job with the prompt, very creative. You have met the
requirements of a cinquain poem and this s a wonderful contest entry that
should do well. The photo is perfectly chosen and accents your writing.
I remember all of those toys growing up, times have dramatically changed.

Thank you for reading and reviewing the poem. That last line does have a resonance that seems to work well.
You may also remember Lincoln Logs. I spent lots of time playing with those.

I do remember yesterday! This is a fun and nostalgic piece. Putting your wonderful words aside, the artwork takes me back further and puts me in a time of joy and happiness--when we didn't know the meaning of constant worry or the pain accompanying empathy. I enjoyed this. Best, JohnC

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for the review and comments. Our yesterdays were unique, but we didn't know it then. From kindergarten to 12th grade, I never once heard of a school shooting.

Wonderful artwork by Beverly A Mcbride! It helps capture the essence of yesteryear and oh how I remember those days!
The tinker toys, the playdoh to mold, the many splendid things that we did on our own.
We had such fun and spent it often in the outdoors where we climbed trees and skinned our knees and other games we made up.
Thanks for reminding me of my past adventures!

Wasn't that artwork worth 1,000 words?
I wish kids today could know and experience some of our yesterdays. Thanks for the review and stars.

This is an excellent cinquain, beautifully written my friend, I've got some old trophies, many folders of old songs written sometime ago, it's amazing what one doesn't throw away, old triumphs dismissed to the corridors memory, well done, blessings Roy

I consider your comments as high praise. Thank you for reading, reviewing, and the blessings. I assume you are the author of the old songs--if so, I'm not too surprised.

The author's words are interesting, memorable, clear and creative.
I remember all these toys and thought about the fun my children
had with these things! The author's poem is colorful and reminiscing.
The artwork is perfect and compliments these words.

Thank you so much for your kind words and all the stars.

I do remember and they are fond memories that I fear children of today miss out on because of the changes in our lifestyles and the electronic inventions. Some of them are blessings but I fear our children are missing some of the fun we enjoyed in our childhood.
Blessings

Thank you, Janet, for your review, all the stars, and your comments. Yes, things are so different for children of today.
Comment from Carolyn Dooley
In those days, we had many simple things to play with. We always found something to do. Even if it was taking pine cones and making a pretend house. The television was in black and white. Or you had to listen to the radio for television programs like Gunsmoke. Thank you for sharing.

It is so sad. All we want is quiet times and a piece of mind.
Comment from Verna Cole Mitchell
You have included an interesting assortment of items of yesterday in your poem - well done. I like the summed up version in the last line, I do remember each one of them.

Thank you Dolly for your review and comments. I think you have to be over 50 or so to remember most of them.
