This is a very solid poem; incredible, really, for your first. It rings true fir a heart searching from every angle, prospective or unrequited love, with all that angst. People can relate to that, because it can hold you hostage or even imprison you, too. It has me, before and it is haunting, forever. Great job. Bruce

Thanks! I appreciate the thoughtful feedback. I was feeling very stuck when I wrote it so I?m glad that sense of being held hostage came through.

Absolutely, it did and I felt it. Been there and it ducjs. Just keep on keeping on. Write what comes easy. You'll be great. This is a fun community; but, there are a few divas in a forum with every level of talent, sharing creativity. The rankings mean almost nothing, on my opinion. Have fun. Bruce

Thanks, that was helpful. I have always felt shy about sharing my art. I am trying to just put it out there because I so appreciate when others do. It?s okay, I guess we all can be divas sometimes. Lol
I try not to worry about doing it right, although I welcome feedback and am always willing to learn and grow.

This is pretty good for your first post on this site. Welcome to the wanna-be-writers club. (just kidding) This site is a lot of fun and a good place to practice the skill of writing. Welcome aboard. Good luck in the contest.

This is a beautifully stated debut poem to this site. I like it, but the packaging needs to be as nice as the poem or at least close. I would select a background color other than the standard gray. Click on FanArt and find a visual to accompany your poem. Maybe a pot of honey or something else. The visuals are free to use. If the visual is large, then consider using the Advanced editor and centering the poem on it.
Welcome to the site, and I look forward to reading more of your work.
