Your poem is truly a tribute to beautiful, and lasting friendship. Friends that love and support each other and enjoy or give a laugh when needed.
Very well-written and I wish you the very best in the contest.
Regards,
Mary

Thanks for your comments, Mary. This friendship stretches over 30 plus years; we have lots of laughs reminiscing about some of our failures and successes.

Friendship is about sharing and these two seemed to have had more than their fair share of sharing - stuck zippers and cruise skippers to naame but two. the earlier part of the poem though, shows why theygravitated towards each other.

The poem was a bit serious so I lightened it up somewhat. Humour and laughter is a big part of our friendship... we cackle like a pair of old hens.

I am having difficulty equating this image with that of the leather clad motor cyclist ( well at least I remembered not to say 'biker'. Lol
-
We have a motorcycle club here called the Ulysses Club - its motto is 'Grow old disgracefully'.

And why not!

I love the rhyming triplets - it leads to a fast paced read and that in turn makes it feel fun which is a perfect tone for this piece. Very well written and I very much enjoyed the read.

Love the image. Even though neither of them looks like you (or how I see you in my mind. maybe in twenty-five years or so!) Lol. But your poem is wonderful, and expresses the values and preciousness of a true and enduring friendship. Care, communication, acceptance, help, humour and much laughter ... it's all there. I hope you do well in the contest.

No, I don't look like either of these women (yet - although it is fast approaching as I am 69 already).

A friend with whom to laugh is a wonderful gift. Don?t worry ? I?m 71, and I can?t believe I am that old!

It happens a bit too quickly. Our young minds in wrinkly packaging.

Lol. I agree.
