mulberries are sweet. Here is Korea they come out in season in July and they go quick as they go bad quickly so when you see them you buy them and eat them that day. they are great.

Jake, I agree with your assessment. They are great to eat. They seem harder to get these days but like you when I see them I buy them. Thanks for taking time to read and review my poem. Have a good day

So much fun helping my grandma putting up ham every summer. Good in winter served with biscuits and a variety of others she'd bring our fir us to chose.

This is a warming piece for the minds of old. I love the old-fashioned life. Apple pies warming on the window sill and the sounds of children playing and laughing. We need that back for them. Unfortunately, we have lost our way as their caretakers. Well done!

    John,
Yes I too enjoyed the old-fashioned life. Some remnants remain but sadly it is almost gone. Thanks for taking the time to read and review my poem. Take Care

I thought mulberries grew on bushes? Like don't all berries grow on bushes?
Oh well. Cute haiku. Paints a picture effectively. Nice job with the illustration as well.

Good luck to you

My Mother also made jam, we had a blackcurrant bush in our garden and we had jam all year round. The simple things in life are so delicious and your words made my mouth water Barry, love Dolly x

I loved my grandmother's jams. She made grape and blackberry jams. Everyday there were biscuits made covered with a cheesecloth that stayed on the table for anyone who was hungry. I enjoyed reading your poem. And like the picture.

For me and my siblings it was blackberries. Yes, my mother also filled the house with a fantastic fragrance and the table with jars of heaven. Your haiku is descriptive and delightful.

The first two lines of this poem flow and connect well. The last line
says it all! Thank you for the author's notes - I always like knowing
the history. The author's words describe a sweet family memory. The
artwork goes well with the theme and words of this poem.

Lovely imagery of your childhood and probably of many other peoples, including mine with other fruits. I feel children now in general are more likely to be glued to TV monitors than outside. I'm maybe getting older? Anyway traditional haiku path of 5-7-5 isn't always necessary, the image and glide to conclusion. Great.

Thanks for taking the time to read and review my poem. Glad that you enjoyed the read. Yes, I would agree that children are now too glued to the TV or Game machines.

I love a bit of homemade jam (admittedly, I prefer eating it to making it). You reminded me of find memories, helping my Nan to make hers by prepping the fruit. I very much enjoyed your piece.
