Beth,
This is such an interesting history of facts and family lineage based on the Walton family and its generations of offspring, links and connections.
Thanks for sharing and keeping the memories.

Fabulous researching, Beth! I'm so glad you shared about all the Waltons including the one who signed the Declaration and the one who started Walmart and Sam's Club and the governor of Georgia. I think those TV Waltons may very well be like what your distant relatives were like!
My husband's family has the same issue with so many names being repeated. His grandmother always said that her ancestor Rolfe was the one who married Pocahontas. (Millions claim her!)

Thank you for a great review. I don't think families today repeat the same names so often. They are more likely to chose a fad name or what happens to be popular. You are right everyone claims someone like Pocahontas. If lines go way back they are easier to trace because there were so many with the same family name in America unless the name was extremely common. It seem all my lines have been here for many generations.

That should mean a lot for your descendants - truly American!

I was wondering how long you spent on these searches, because they are so comprehensive in their detail, but I think it would be a great hobby, finding the origins of your ancestors would be quite exhaustive, beautifully written Beth, blessings Roy

Thank you Roy. That extra g stood for great-grandfather. That is the way they they write it on Ancestry.com but I should write it out because others will think it's an error. I've been fooling with genealogy for years, but since I started writing about it, I'm just going back on Ancestry and looking at what others have found out and checking to make sure the dates line up. There is already a world of information on Ancestry.com and on the internet if you like to do research. I doesn't take like to write up what you find.

Well Owen is one of the names I may research since it is on my husbands side. I may find out you are related to my husband. LOL

That?s true, there was an revivalist preacher in the welsh revival with the surname Owen, I?m looking for a Christian connection in the family, because I?m the only one that I?m aware, which is unusual. Thank you Beth.

    This is from Evan's family:
Thomas Owen was born in Wales, the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Owen. He is estimated to have been born about 1709. The Owen family had left Wales and settled in Pennsylvania along with others seeking religious freedom. Thomas's father died when he was 11. Thomas was raised by his mother along with brothers Richard, Samuel, Owen, John and sisters, Mary, Elinor and Katherine. In his mother's will dated 1741 she leaves him the money he borrowed from her in 1740. [chester.pa-roots.com/wills] Thomas is next found on the1751 tax list in Peter's Township, Cumberland County, PA. Sometime during this time Thomas met and married Abigail ????. She probably came from a Baptist family as the Owen family were staunch Baptists. Thomas and Abigail were part of the Baptist Society in Peter's Township. Thomas owned 27 acres there.

Very fascinating. I enjoyed reading. I think most people want to believe their ancestors are very similar to the Waltons. It was a great family.

His body lies beneith a memorial designed to honor signers (beneath???)

Thank you for a great review. I would have loved to have grown up in a family like the Waltons but when you're an only child it just doesn't work that way. I knew people who seemed a lot like them though.
