Seemed the Walton line was very confusing and complex to trace.

Interesting how they lived in those days, including taking muskets to church in case of Indian attacks.

Many interesting tidbits in these lines you brought forth.

Maybe the Waltons television show had some connection to someone in this long line of Waltons?

Thanks Brett. There were a lot of Waltons in Virginia where Earl Hammer who wrote the Waltons lived. I'm not sure why in used that name. He may have been related. The series was filmed in California. I enjoy your comments.

This is another very interesting chapter in your family history, Beth. I can understand how difficult it was to find the right line of Waltons to fit into your tree. I have had to remove several people, found from other personal trees, because when I investigated further, I realized the dates just didn't line up, even though the names did. Now, with families being spread out all over the place, and women keeping their maiden names, I can only imagine the nightmares of anyone doing family trees in the future.

I too was wondering if your Walton family name might have been connected to the stories of the Waltons in the TV show. :) Well documented.

Thank you Judy. I'm having problems with another line because people paid no attention to dates or places and everyone used them without double checking. I ended up with a long line of people that weren't related at all. It is really confusing when distant cousin marry someone with the same last name or like you say, the woman keeps her maiden name. I have a cousin who just made up a last name when she got her divorce/

Thank Isa. I guess some in our family did alright for themselves. I enjoyed doing the research and was surprised to find as much information on the computer as I did.

Beautiful narrative of some of your family history. I also have researched my geneology but have never taken the time to write it up so succinctly. There are so many branches to follow that it seems impossible, so I have always given up. Thank you for a dose of inspiration!

Thank you Lisa. I really appreciate the review and comments I would never attempt to trace them all. I'll probably only go as far as the great grandparents lines.

I enjoy the slices of history you put into this search for your ancestry i.e. taking muskets to church in case of an Indian attack. Even a slight connection to someone who signed the Declaration is impressive. I suspect you inherited the hardworking trait as well as the reputation of being a landowner.

Thank you for the review and for the beautiful sixer. I've never had the desire the work like a pioneer woman, but I used to stay pretty busy with help of modern conveniences. Now the desire to anything that involved getting tired has deserted me.

Beth, I can tell you are really getting into delving into your heritage for your family. I love it. I seems like it must take a lot of research for the posts. Thank God for the internet, right?

Thank you Ted. I don't think I would even attempt this if it weren't for the internet. You can find almost anything you look for on this site. I used to make trips to the library but this is so much easier.

I immediately thought The Waltons tv show when I saw the
title. Beth. I enjoyed reading your well organized post. You
did a great job of keeping all the Waltons in line as to families,
jobs, children, moves, etc. I found it interesting ho so many
had the same first names--that would be confusing even
years later.

I believe this part of the line should be capitalized ~
the second continental congress.-->The Second
Continental Congress (not sure).
Thanks for sharing more of your family, Jan

Thank you Jan. I appreciate the review and you nice comments. I agree. That probably should be capitalized so I've fixed it.

You have accounted for about your search for Waltons, and after watching the TV show, the Waltons, you starts comparing your family line with the family status and sort of living pattern and you have conformed a state of Waltons existence in your mind; well said, well done, post god speed more, share post not 4 self-joy-pride but 4 God and readers worldwide Alcreator Litt Dear (DR)

Thank you so much. You made my day with the six stars. So many reviewers seem to have disappeared from Fanstory and it isn't so easy to get six stars or even a lot of reviews anymore. I'm so glad you find this interesting.

Well, since I was always a fan of the Walton family on television, I'll assume you came from a pretty good bunch of people. Of course, as we all know, there's always a thorn or two in every orchard. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

You're right about right about a few thorns in the orchard. It is good to know you were a fan of the Waltons. With that story you are writing, I assumed you taste might run to some less PG. I take that back. You have been very faithful to read my posts which I truly appreciate.

The best thing about fiction is: we can be whoever we choose for the minute and do things we wouldn't dream of in real life. LOL.

So true. I guess you need more excitement in your life and this is good way to get it without getting maimed.

You've figured it out exactly. Coffee, tea, and a La-Z-Boy with a book leaves out the "what if's."
