Probably my most favorite flower and perhaps one of the easiest to find. We planted a bush a few years ago and it is growing like wildfire. My Dad used to have two bushes in his yard that had to be at least 30 to 40 feet across. So beautiful and nothing smells spring like the first lilac blooms.

As I read this,, I could smell the lovely fragrance that fills the room with a sense of tranquility that seems to softly echo throughput the room. I also loved that the picture shows that peace with card and cup of coffee next to the vase. Great job my friend!

Lilacs are hands down my favorite flower. The scent is absolutely heavenly. I wish they didn't have such a short life and bloomed all summer. They are the superior flower and most definitely dispel gloom! Excellent job!

I love lilacs too. Your poem is attractively presented and delivers an upbeat message. Because 'Lilacs' (the subject) is plural, I think the verb 'dispels' should actually be 'dispel', as in 'they dispel gloom' rather than 'it dispels gloom'.

I love the colours and scent of lilacs. You do a beautiful job of evoking them here, even with so few words, and I like the detail about them reminding you of your Mum. That makes them valuable beyond measure.
