When will Fanstory have a contest for the post that creates the most laughs in the least amount of space! Whenever it is, you have that one in the bag. I like 'Paying Your Way' best and a good humorist always saves the best for last. Reunions: I have only been to one, at Little Star Church in Holum, LA. I think I was ten years old.
Keep the humor coming. We need it to remind us of real life. Talk to you later. ann

An interesting story. I'm sorry about Carl. It must have been painful and scary. The gathering must have been great fun. Well written.
Thanks for sharing.

Lol! Thanks for the fun and interesting memories. My favorite was about Larry learning all about customer service while providing his grandpa his beer. And I never heard about how danger catfish could be! I don't have whiskey but I never would have thought to bring bleach and band-aids on a fishing trip! By the way, "catfishing" has a whole new meaning on the internet...

This was a fun and smooth read that brought smiles and a few chuckles. I liked how you divided up the segments and treated them as vignettes. Thank you for sharing.
I would give you six stars if I could, but I can't--they're gone. Sorry.

Hi Terry, this is a great memory of what came along with your marriage. You spend some lovely time at the beach. It was a great read and as always I so enjoy your memoirs. All best, Ulla:)))

Now there's a knee slapper! Congrats on second place btw... (I meant to PM you!)--
I have a fair number of like-minded colorful relations and in-laws. Our family gatherings were often at the ocean (Because nothing spells fun like sunburn, inebriated amateur boaters, jellyfish stings, and lots and lots of alcohol!)
I had a wee bit of medical training myself (RN)-- But, dang! When my cousin convinced me that peeing on my jellyfish sting (which thank God was on my ankle) was THE cure ~ um, who was I to question?
I have PTSD to this day...I like neither "jelly" nor "fish!"
You always leave me in stitches. (Metaphorically! No bleeding occurred!)
SO good!
"Do you take food stamps from Arizona?"
That line was worth the price of admission!
Bravo!

That kid who offered the food stamps is now 65, and just sold the company he started for several million dollars, Thank you for reading! Terry.

I don't miss your posts. Laughter is the best medicine!

As I always tell you, this was another pure delight. I love the reaction of Dr Carl who told you to get the aspirin, bleach and bandaids. I laughed at many parts, but I also recognized the last person in the story as one of the spitters, and thought to myself, I remember the people in his stories, better than some of my own. That should tell you a little how they grab me and take me right to where you are going with it. You are the greatest storyteller and even though I haven't even finished my thank you messages or written a few poems that are due, I just can't help but to read your stories first. I guess it's part of being a procrastinator, but mostly being addicted to your writing. Thanks my awesome friend for never disappointing me!

I liked your family reunion story. It was cute, and I liked the cat fishing story the best. I've been stabbed a few times, taking cats off a hook. You did a great job. Enjoy your afternoon. Shirley

Every story and event is delightful and charming. My family has had many a drinking contest with the only ones "winning." being in grammar school.
Well-written with humor and I truly enjoyed each story.
Best wishes,
Mary

Thank you for sharing. I couldn't help but smile. We normally go to Mustang Island in Corpus Christie. It's got a nice beach and not as crowded as other placed. Sunday we're meeting our son and his family at Rockport. I've been there but not to the beach.
In 1980, after my buddy Carl finished his tour as a Navy doctor, (comma after 'buddy', some would say also a comma after 'Carl'. I'll let your decide.)
