The joys of large familes and times at the beach. It is a unique and fascinating form of ritual reserved for those who have access to relatives and water which you have captured nicely. T he use of individual vignettes in interesting. The picture is good, too.

Hi Terry,

I bet becoming engulfed into Zoe's family was a pretty startling experience to begin with. Especially the fine line between winning and losing the contests must have been tricky to master. Thanks for letting us into your family. Kate xx

It sounds like you inherited quite a lively family from Zoe. You owe all your relatives so much for allowing you to have them take residence in your imagination. I'll not soon forget drinking games with the winner chosen from those who drank less. Is that lovely woman standing beside you in your bio pic, Zoe? As with virtually everything else I've read of yours, you have entertained me royally ... and I couldn't ask for anything more.
Jay

Humor when family gets together
A Family Reunion

Hello Terry Broxson how that is a A Family Reunion burnt gumbo.
I had to smile, how in the world how you can tell who drank the least amount of booze That is what my dad called it "booze"

Looks like you had some fun contest smiles to this one---
Cat fishing, you did well telling what they are to get off the hook.
Again I had a good time reading of how the catfish flopped up and stabbed some one between the two big toes on his left foot. Blood spurted up like that famous geyser in Yellowstone.
And ended up drinking, J&B scotch to make it heal and helped stop the irritating pain

Gert
I wish you the best in the contest

A family tradition told with humor and warmth. Most family occasions have a humorous side. The format of small cameos works well. The images are clear. The language fits the situation. The dialogue is believable.

Thanks for a good read.

Ha, ha, ha this was so funny. I like the best the fishing contest when the doctor took the advice of people who had no clue and of course this paragraph:"Larry was about seven when this started (over fifty years ago). Larry was paid a quarter for each delivered Budweiser. He stuck close to Grandpa. Larry had two pockets full of quarters at the end of the weekend. This was his first experience with customer service, and it served him well as he later developed his own businesses." Thank you for sharing and I am waiting for the next show:)

Like always, I thought your stories were very well told. Funny but delicately written. Don't you wee on a sting? That's what they do in the movies. Thank you for sharing and take care. I think I would rather have the pain than someone relieving themselves on my person lol.

The lore of the wee is for jellyfish stings...But it is a good thing nobody suggested to Dr. Carl, LOL. Thanks for reading! Terry.

What a terrific write!
You wrote this in the most honest and descriptive way.
I actually felt like I was at the beach, eating burnt gumbo, drinking too much, my foot hurt, I made some money yet couldn't pay for the beer;)
This is well written and I appreciate the whimsy, made me laugh. Thanks, I needed that.

You have some humorous stories here. The catfish one is interesting, I didn't know bleach would treat a stab wound from a fish. The last story about attempting to buy alcohol with food stamps must have been hilarious. Good try for your nephew.
