Having pets I have had to deal with the larger ones that look like chewing gum. I alway got my father to remove them with tweezers.
If they get a chance to have their fill they do drop off .. When we detected one , for days I would feel uncomfortable, imagining one might have dropped off in the house.
Your tick was at the first stage no bigger that a seed.. they are still dangerous. And yes they like bushy hair like under arm pits and dark places like the groin.
Damn blood sucker.
Despite the critters make me shudder, you actually made your story humorous.
Your finally reflection got the biggest laugh.
PS: It would be a good thing to keep the tick in case you start feeling sick ( fever , joint aches etc)
You can get it tested for disease . So scotch tape it securely to a card and put date .
Keep safe!

Thank you, tempeste - I had to correct the capital T - I only got one vote in the mirror contest, and an exceptional rating really fires up my ovens. Great picture of a dog and a cat; nemeses find solace in each other.

I found my avatar pic on Internet many years ago. I kept it and when I subscribed here on fanstory I used it. It kinda sums up my life.
I started off as a dog lover but then we rescued our first feline and since then I have had many.
Dogs and cats actually get along together.
The stray rescued above was a kitten ( eyes were still closed ) It wouldn?t stop crying so we tried to put it in our dog s fur.
The kitten snuggled up. Vergo initially froze but within a day had accepted it.
They became close buddies.

Well done on your poem Author,
I've only experienced ticks a few times in my life, and that was in the mid-west. Count on a tick to find the most inconvenient place to dine. It's not like you can call in a friend to help you in your time of need. Good luck in the contest.
Have a blessed evening.
