I love all of these, as well as your take on the names. Great humor. I especially like the Office Girls, Antartica. They certainly deserve to have something named after them. What a build up for Bacon and Eggs, and a big disappointment. Instead of food, a wildflower. A great delight, and I hope more people will be contributing. judi

Love this post K !!!
The humor is appreciated given the horrific news we endure daily. I enjoyed the history lesson as well. It is fascinating to discover the origins of names/ places/ stories etc.
Batman, Turkey !!
I wonder how many, if anyone visits:) Thanks for sharing.

I read that some government official tried to sue the "Dark Knight" folks for copyright infringement!
That's silly.
Thanks for reading!

Wow, you took us to unknown places all over the world! Now you got me wondering what Batiman might mean. ("Bat" in Hebrew means daughter - not related to the winged mammal. Lol.) Now I want to know what those bacon and eggs flowers look like - nope, you'd have to be really hungry to see those!
Thanks so much for adding to the book and giving us laughs over all these place names!

Yes, it's just a img src command. As long as you know the website address, you can use HTML to add a picture.

Omg! An img src what now???
I barely manage to access "Advanced Editor!"
I think my tech talent topped off when I figured out how to sharpen crayons in that "whatzit" on the Crayola box!
Do you make house calls?

Very entertaining and humorous post. I will have to use this game as a travel game from now on. Great research, K, to find these places. Brought a smile to my face.

Wow! I'll take a dollar to state the obvious. F'ing funny. It's tempting to make up some imaginary cities of our own. I like Batman, Turkey the best. Thanks for sharing this.

Karenina,
You gave me some much needed chuckles here. I think my favorite is Wonowon. It sure sounds like it could be a word from one of the native tribes. After all, you'll find Kokanee there as well. Great job.

I am quite sure I wouldn't want to go there.I will keep my two feet planted where it is safe and not to end up on someone's plate. Much luck to you all.

You have a wonderful sense of humor! I love all the little incidental comments you inserted. The picture is interesting; looks like that compass has seen better days. I'm glad Helen opened this as a multi-author book. Thanks for the laughs. Blessings. Carol

Interesting idea to write about strange names across the globe, but very efficient and some are having very comic names. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings and the next chapter.

We've got some "ripper" names in Australia, mostly they are aboriginal names, like Indonesian plurals, "Jalan, jalan is plural for walking, we add an "S" on they simply say it twice, like Wagga-Wagga, or Woy-Woy, where Elaine used to live, beautifully written, well done Karen, blessings Roy
