Hi, Linda! Hope life has been treating you kindly!

I read Helen's and was so relieved to be chuckling I had to jump in.

    So much sadness these days...

So-- want to meet in "Eggs and Bacon?"

    Breakfast is on me!

Hugs and Double Hugs for these six shiny stars!

    Thank you,

    Karenina

    It would be such fun!

    Tasmania.

I rarely make it out of Massachusetts!

she is so beautiful...and talks to me all day...her mom said she doesn't talk to anyone like that...I told her...the baby and I think alike...we are on the same level for conversations...LOL...

My husband and I lived in Plymouth, Massachusetts for about 7 months...it was a long time ago...
but I do remember I worked in a Deli at the top of a hill...I walked to work there 5 days a week...the food was great...and the owner was really nice...I remember going with my husband to see the movie True Grit...those were wonderful times...but he wanted to go back home by his family...sigh...

well it's bedtime...so you have sweet dreams ...much love...xxoo

No kidding? How disappointed were you when you first saw Plymouth Rock?

    I was "underwhelmed!"

I would have been more impressed with a good corned beef on rye!

    G'night friend!
reply by l.raven on 04-Jun-2022
LOL...well it had a date on it and everything...think about it...all the people who have sat on it...and stood around it for pictures...holding their corn beef on rye...

I can honestly say the walk on the Mayflower
was a bit more enlightening...OH...and there was a place where you could get the best tasting ice cream cones...

see...I remember some things...just can't remember others...LOL...I must have been impressed with the rock...I remembered it...
maybe I sat on it to eat my ice cream...
    love ya...xxoo

I imagined it as HUGE! When I saw it I was so sad...there was litter all around it. I did love Plymouth Village, the Diarama, the cranberry bogs AND the Mayflower !!!

    that's so sad...I didn't get to seeing a lot of things...we were only there about 7 months...but what I did see...was very pretty...most of it...love xxoo

A very enjoyable and interesting read - and I was glad to see Eggs and Bacon Bay in Tasmania made your list. It is a very pretty wildflower. I must remember to come up with a few other Aussie ones.

You've certainly done your homework here and come up with some hilarious names. The only one I can add off the top of my head is Puddletown, which is situated on the River Piddle in Dorsetshire, England.

Puddletown! On the River Piddle? That is too rich!

    Thanks for reading!

Haha, Karenina, you took readers (me) on a whirlwind trip to
places I quickly marked off (even though they were never on it)
my bucket list. You gave each unlucky destination (at least in
my opinion) its own reason to avoid. While several of the names
such as Batman, Turkey and The Office Girls, Antarctica were ok
names not so much their location. Also, Hotazel has described
our temps pretty much since end of March, I wouldn't want to
visit the real one. I'll take our 105-108* next week and just read
about those who do go.
Respectfully, Jan

    Hah!

    Thanks Jan!

80 is about as hot as I like it...

    Hotazel is definitely not on
    any future travel agenda!

Ha ha...you gotta love these.
I loved Helen's too.
My favorite here is 'Disappointment Islands'...
how would you like THAT on your stationary,
ha ha.
We have a 'Poor Man's Road'...that would just SO depress
me, ha ha.
Loved this,
blessings...

Helen comes up with some terrific ideas, and this is no exception. I love what you have done here, and think there are few destinations whose name belies the actual beauty to be find there. In this case I am thinking mostly of Disappointment Islands.

I truly enjoyed your wit in drawing all these together for our enjoyment.

Thanks for sharing. :))

Well written. Good work. Interestingly told.
We drove through Coffee, Texas and couldn't find a coffee shop anywhere. How dumb was that missed opportunity. Didn't know what to expect in Possum Grape, Arkansas.
Best wishes.

Yew. Possum Grape? That sounds oddly disconcerting!

Thanks for giving this a read...

I enjoyed this fun post, especially Wonowon, British Columbia. It actually does sound like Highway 101. This made me think of odd named places I've heard of in Pennsylvania where I grew up, like Intercourse, Pa., California, Dallas, Houston, Mars, and Scalp Level Pennsylvania. Thanks for giving me a chuckle.

These are hysterical. I loved all of them! Hotazel, South Africa, and Wonowon, British Columbia, were my favorites! This was so much fun, Karenina. I loved it!
