This was a good piece of dribble flash fiction. I think the "punk" got what he deserved. If only it were so in real life. Most people won't get involved. Thanks for sharing.

    Hello Jessi,
Thanks so much for taking the time to read and review this little piece of fiction. I got the idea from watching the news. It was disgusting to see these two fellows holding down an older Asian man and slapping him while others sat nearby and did nothing. I hate bad behavior in people. I wish I had the ability to step in wherever it happened and make it right. One day it will all come out in the wash, but until then, we've got to take a stand.
    Have a blessed evening.

Hi there,

There certainly are some unsavoury characters out roaming the places. I think there always has been. Mind you, these days, you'd be the one getting prosecuted for interfering.

All the best

    Hello GMG,
Thanks so much for the great review and thoughtful comments. You're right, anyone stepping in to help out our fellow man would become the criminal. Justice has been turned on it's head. I'm reminded of Sodom and Gommorah, and we know how that turned out.
    Have a blessed day.

You did a great job writing this post. And people need to get involved in these horrible situations. Those thieves and crooks would think twice about taking advantage of people. Especially senior citizens, and children. Thank you for the post.

    Hello Carolyn,
Well said gal! When criminals and bullies get away with mistreating other people, it only emboldens them. People have got to say enough is enough. If ordinary citizens banded together, these things wouldn't happen. Thanks so much for the thoughtful comments.
    Have a blessed day.

Good story. Well written.
One thing better (outside your control) would be that the bear spray had permanent florescent orange (or some other color) paint mixed in. And you had handcuffs.
Best wishes.

    Hello Wayne,
Wouldn't that be great? The cops would have no problems identifying the creeps. I've never experienced bear spray or pepper spray, but I understand that it's exceptionally painful to get on your skin or in your eyes and will indeed incapacitate a person for awhile. Thanks so much for the great review Wayne.
    Have a blessed day.

Your tale has an impact on the reader and all of us must take a stand. It seems that our society has become so violent, it is scary. I like how bear spray is used in your story, clever and creative.

    Hello Elaine,
Thanks so much for the great review and comments. It's truly terrible that we can't even go and do the simple every day things that a civil society does anymore without fear of being beat up or shot or run down by a car or having our cars stolen while we're still in them. There is a break down of the law and I fear that we have been guilty of allowing the judicial system to honor those who break the law and penalize those who by nature uphold it. Here in Alaska, bear spray is fairly common for people to take on a hike if they aren't comfortable having a gun with them. One would hope that one would have the where-with-all to use it if confronted by an angry bear, or person for that matter.
    Have a blessed evening.

I like the idea of carrying bear spray. Elaine

A rational, civic or appropriate action you have taken, though it was temporary but instant, I must congratulate for the commonsense and taking a rightful action even if it was not an act of terrorism but something more than eve teasing in a subway; Well said, well done, post god speed more; b a classic-good (rare) theist writer, post 4 God; may pray FS sick Free Member Alcreator Litt Dear (DR)

    Hello DR,
Thanks so much for the fine review and comments. You're right, it technically wouldn't be considered an act of terrorism in this country, but I believe it would be an act of racially motivated violence, which is punishable by jail time I believe. Of course the person being slapped around doesn't care what it's called they just want to get home unharmed.
    Have a blessed day.

Unbelievable. That's just plain bullying. An excellent entry for the Dribble Flash Fiction except for one typo: "aisle" (hall or corridor), not "isle" (Island). Best wishes for your entry.

Thanks so much for the great review and comments Wendy, and for catching the typo. I went back and corrected it. I'm so tired of watching the hateful actions of some people and there not being an appropriate response. We're witnessing first hand the lack of Godly fear in this country.
    Have a blessed day.

Tom,

This is a great entry for the contest. Good people must intervene when they can, but too many just don't want to get involved. So often I see people touted as "heroes" for just doing what any normal human being should do to assist another. How sad that we have come to the point where coming to someone's aid is seen as an anomaly and not just part of being a member of civilized society. Good luck in the contest.

Thanks so much Sue for the great review and comments. You're right. There was a time in our country where more people stood up for the weak when they were targeted. I so hope that we can get back to a state of law and order before we have no country left.
    Have a blessed day.

How terrible Tom. There was a video recording that went viral in the UK of a woman shouting abuse at an asian man on a train and she was arrested and prosecuted after the video was shown. Our trains have cameras to prevent this from happening and to record these incidents so that the criminals are afraid to act in this way for fear of prosecution. We also have emergency pull chords too. I understand the fear of the public not to get involved as they themselves are then targeted, but you are right, if we don't stand up against these thugs, they just continue to behave badly. A poignant write Tom, love Dolly x

    Hello Dolly,
I've seen a number of videos recently, several from subway incidents and some from out front of stores where an innocent person was walking down the sidewalk and out of nowhere, they were punched or shoved to the ground and stomped on. In many cases it involved Asian people being abused. Our president insists that the main problem in America is white supremacy. I don't know what he's been drinking, but the facts don't support his fallacy. As the bible has said, a house divided against itself can not stand. We all need to overlook our differences and work together, or we'll fall as a nation.
    Have a blessed day gal.

The president is focusing on the black vote and he has no idea what is going on. We have no mention of white supremacy in Britain, we all get on with the task of living and working together. Love Dolly

How you can make something so awful into something amusing is amazing. Very well-written and attention grabbing. You might want to change isle to aisle. Best of luck in the dribble flash fiction.

    Hello Carol,
thanks so much for your excellent review. I just happened to watch the latest incident of an Asian man being held by one man and slapped by another while on the subway. My anger was instantaneous and white hot. We've got to start addressing crime when it happens, or no one will be safe anywhere.
    Have a blessed day gal.
