Beautiful tree, great picture, and a very well-written poem. I'd call that a trifecta!
Thanks for sharing!

Loved your Ronsardian Ode to your tree. You bestow such honor on it to call it the guard of the yard. It's marvelous to see a tree grow and how it provides shelter for plants and birds and wildlife!

Thank you. It was a foot long and the size of my finger when I planted it. My uncle found it in his yard, and we called it the bird ree because the birds planted it. It's a willow oak.

Thank you for sharing this ode to a tree with us. I enjoyed reading. Yes, trees are very important. I have often wished they could speak so we could hear the stories they have to tell.

I once told Jim (Pantygynt) that I talk to trees and he wanted to know what they say to me. I said it's secret. hahahaha

That is a beautiful tree, Yvonne. When I saw your title I thought maybe it was an ode to a statue. That looks like a nice place to enjoy the day. It has been so chilly here our trees have not leaved out fully. No summer for us this year I guess. One of our three months have already flown! Good Job. Nancy:)

A very well-done ode in tribute to the beautiful tree in your backyard. Excellent picture as well. I can not tell what type of tree it is from the picture except to say it looks happy where it is. Good job. Terry.

That's the beauty of living in the same place for many years - we get to see things grow. I like how you call the tree your 'yard guard'. You've used the Ronsardian ode form very well to sing the praises of your beautiful tree. (what is it?)

-Very nice photo and presentation.
-I think a lot of work goes into this form.
-You wrote a good poem about this special tree.
-It looks like a very nice, cool place.
-A very good opening verse sharing
how "steadfast and strong" this tree has been.
-I like the second verse when all of
"The birds come perch with praising melodies."
-Good closing lines, too.
-Well done!

What a lovely tree to guard your back yard! You have written a beautiful ode to it. It flows smoothly and you have celebrated each aspect and function of the tree in fine verse.
