That was so funny, Terry, and now my age has changed, I'm 35 and 480 months old!! I really like that new number! LOL!! I love this and Sam is sooooo clever!! I searched and searched but couldn't fine one little nit!! As for the Jack Rabbit, well, I don't think I know anyone who has cooked one. This was such a funny story, and I loved it. Is there a part 2? :)) Sandra xxx

Terry,

This is hilarious all the way through. How observant to notice Sam's moment of hesitation and then imagine what might have been going through his head. I give him a lot of credit. Most dogs would have gone for the prey.

Most welcome, Terry. I also laughed at 245 months past minimum.

Sue, you might enjoy reading Karenina's review of my story. She too liked the 245 reference and then had some fun with the rest of the review. Terry.

A humorous tale, told through the unique perspective of an animal. Story flow was solid and the story itself was interesting. I loved the jackrabbit dilemma you presented.

Mark, if you liked the story what did it need for you to give it a five? Terry

Sorry, thought I did. I went back in and changed it. Sorry. Fast fingers at work again.

I have never heard of that particular breed of dog Terry, but I do now. They are more dog like than most breed of dog, so now I know where your coming from, beautifully written my friend, incredibly entertaining a very interesting , well done, blessings Roy

I liked the dog's voice. Very much how I think a dog would speak. And I enjoyed the contrast between the cat daddy's and dog's voices. A stronger story arc might be nice, but otherwise this was a really fun, creative story that I enjoyed reading. Great job!

Thank you very much, I had not written a story like that so, your suggestion is a leaning opportunity for me. Terry.

Excellent story. (It reminded me so much of when I broke my foot. I could dive an automatic car still using my other foot for pedals. So I drove the dog to leash free areas, and hobbled along with crutches, then boot later, resting at each park bench. My then dog pretty much stayed at my side, with occasional runs.) very nicely written by both you and Sam. Do you read my dog Sunny's stories? His latest is called Dear Lily.

I was just thinking about how fun it would be to write a story from my cat's point of view. You've inspired me!

I enjoyed this - it's funny and creative and Sam sounds like a good boy.

Congratulations on number 50 - you made it a real treat for us:-)

Sam sounds like a dog with more commonsense than most. Indeed he comes from a breed noted for being playful, affectionate and intelligent. Mine would go for the jackrabbit first and do the thinking afterwards.

I loved when you transitioned into the dog's perspective and told their witty little tale (tail?). I especially smiled at the references to the human vet and potential cone requirement.

This was a great fun read :-)

I love your story, very well written and seems like Sam is a smart dog not to get involved in something he doesn't know much about. Congratulations on your milestone post.
