This is another great chapter and I really loved it. I do not usually read religious stuff as I find it tedious but this story has hooked me. Thank you for sharing and have a great weekend.

Yes, John, thank you for the synopsis. It did help me pick up with the story in an effortless manner. It's an intriguing read with some fantasy involved and hard-hitting family issues also driving the story. Well done.

I have no 6's to give, but if I did, I would give one to you. This is a well-crafted excerpt from a story. I was hooked from the beginning. The plot was layered, and the conflict was clearly stated. I enjoyed it and really have no suggestions for improvement. Well-done!!

I read and reviewed part 1, John. This part was a great
continuation. You gave readers much to think about in
the story and in themselves. Yes, forgiveness is a complex
act with many layers. Many advocate forgiving, though
never forgetting (whatever the reason in the first place). The
fact this aspect centers on a Father made it more compelling.
Just who was that disembodied voice then homeless stranger?
Many ideas could be offered for an answer. I believe it was
something to represent a spirit, could be an angel sent by
the Lord, etc. Your words flowed smoothly with great imagery.
I look forward to the next chapter, Jan

This is intriguing. A priest seldom becomes a protagonist of a story. The synopsis of your story sounds well. This story will be full of emotions, drama, family conflicts. I am keeping my fingers crossed for your story :)

That medallion, will it bring Thaddeus back? If he is brought back, then God wills it through the medallion. That homeless man who spoke to Everett, I don't think he was what he looked like. This story is amazing, John, and I hope you don't take too long to give us the next part. Well done, my friend! :) Sandra xx

This an intriguing story. It has many dramatic levels. I am divided on the question of forgiveness. It is easy to say I forgive you, but is it sincere? Do you really mean it. Is it free of reservations, are there conditions? Is your forgiveness subject to revocation? There is much to consider when considering forgiveness. I am very much looking forward to reading the next installment.

The synopsis was appreciated as I know it's hard to keep track from week to week. Now you have me wondering if the power of the medallion will work in resurrecting Thaddeus from death? That would make it more possible to forgive. After all, the Jewish tradition is that the soul didn't leave the body until three days after death. I like your wise homeless man who seems to be an angel who knows all about Everett.

Punctuation comment:
"And rightfully so, Everett blurted." ("And rightfully so," Everett blurted.)

"but you don't understand. (But) as it's a new sentence that's quoted

Thank you, Helen. Yes, the following story is going to be a tricky one. I'm still in the thought process. Thank you again for reviewing and for the critiques.

This is a beautiful chapter in your story. You touched on one of the most sensitive issues facing a converted Christian. Remarkable, is the conversation with who may/may not have been a perfect stranger to Father Everett. I sense Someone there.
The tragic loss of Thaddeus was nevertheless a masterful stroke and will cause Everett to face more problems, and ultimately, himself.
Very good, retrospective writing.

Thanks for this synopsis. I read part one, but it helps to refresh my memory. I went back and read it again in preparation for this post.

Your write with a quiet wisdom that comforts me. Each line presents a question and within the lines, an answer begins to emerge.

Like a modern-day parable. Made more accessible because your characters are imperfect--as we all are. They have regrets. They wait too long, at times, to find the "happy ending."

Or--the "happy ending" was not the journey they were on, to begin with.

I am especially interested in your discussion of forgiveness. Perhaps that is because I've too often felt to forgive is to justify. It's a lesson I have to keep relearning. It's a lesson I wish those who I have failed would realize.

Well worthy of six stars, and oh, I hate saying this--I have none left for the week.

I've said it before.

You aren't writing for the stars here. You are writing from your heart.

Karenina
