Some of my ancestors came from Wales too. How interesting that both you and your husband are descended from Welsh immigrants. It is also interesting that your husband was encouraged to go to school and become an engineer. Excellent writing and flow of events here.

Thank you for the nice review and comments. Right now Ancestry has me 8# Welsh and my husband 12%. I think they keep changing the percentages.

Family history and ancestry is so fascinating. I keep mine on both sides.

Korean conflict = Korean War. My stepfather fought in this war and lost many men under his command.

A fascinating record of the Shelby family. Sending you my best today as always,

Thank you Sally, I appreciate the review. History used to be boring but when you go back and realize so one who shared your DNA was actively involved it makes it more interesting. I appreciate you pointing out the spags.

You have many eminent people in your respective bloodlines, I wish I could boast that, but I can't. I think sometimes we look for peerages in our bloodline, but that doesn't define us, but I do know God blesses generations through godliness, well done Beth, interesting and well written, blessings Roy

Thank you so much for the review. I'm pretty sure everyone has people of prestige in their lines, if they trace them. I wasn't aware there was anything except poor people in my family until I started looking. Nothing of importance to was handed down to us and those people didn't know us so there is nothing to brag about. I'm just learning a bit about history I didn't know bu doing the research. I was curious about why people left their country to come here. Why did your folks leave England? I don't care about the peerage. Too many of them lost their heads. I just found out today King Charles I had his head chopped off. How gruesome.
