This is a funny true story, but I wouldn't be surprised if nowadays it made no difference. Soon all the bathrooms will be for all ages and all 52 genders. Who happens to be sharing your time there will be the luck of the draw. (Excuse the rant.)

Your embarrassment got in the way of knowing - in the scheme of things - his transgression was very minor. Rushing out of the store seems like an over-reaction to me, but when we are younger we think the whole world is watching us. Newsflash - it isn't.
