Shine On, You Crazy Diamond
Gypsy, you always make me smile when I read of your new formats
I could see the dew shining like diamonds upon the dried fall leaves.

How well I remember! Amazing, isn't it, how profound the nature of those lyrics become more jeweled and faceted the older we get? We didn't know what we didn't know back then... Life would teach us the rest. Crazy diamonds... Indeed!

Thank you very much, Karenina. I love Pink Floyd music. I didn't know the meaning of the song until today. It's very sad. I appreciate you took the time to read and review my poem.

The older we get the more meaningful those lyrics get!

Oh how very clever that you used Pink Floyd as a title. Is this poem about mental health? I always find haikus and all poetic forms Japanese to be too clever for my taste.
The words of your poem and the authors notes are boyh unclear as to whether this is about mental health or just a pretty albeit melancholy mood.

The poem is about the cycle of life written as a metaphor of how oaktree leaves die and fall on the ground where they cover soil and feed the soil with seeds for new trees. I just like the title and I quoted Pink Floyed because they wrote a song called, Shine on you crazy diamond. the poem is not about mental health. Whenever I write about mental issues I explain it in my author notes and give a 24 hour crisis phone line.
Thank you for taking the time to read and review my poem. I appreciate your honest feedback.

Always a pleasure

I like the message of death of one generation with the diamond-glisten of the rain feeding the new life beneath. I'm guessing there must be an acorn under those leaves!
