Thanks for the note Jesse explaining the background on the poem and its satirical nature. Well-crafted, and, yes, it is certainly a beautiful day. Always keep the positive attitude. Hope the physical therapy is progressing.

Hello, Tim. I always try to keep a positive attitude. Thank you for the kind words.
I am not in physical therapy right now instead, I am waiting for my surgery date to be chosen. I will hopefully find out this coming Wednesday.
Have a great weekend!

very nicely done. hard to make fun of such a serious topic but you handled it well, with deft jabs at the topic and a reminder of how everyday can be a beautiful day.

Yes, Jake, every day can be a beautiful day!
I like your use of terms like 'deft jabs.'
Thank you for your kind comments.
Have a beautiful Memorial weekend!

As a fellow Californian, I can identify with this poem and find its humor delightful. Yes, we often hope it won't rain when we are planning some outdoor activity, and then we have to always add, "But we need the rain." The second stanza is perfect and could even stand alone.

Thanks, K. Lang, for the wonderful review.
I am happy you found this delightful and humorous. Everyone in California says we need rain but isn't it a beautiful day, anyway. Especially when we want to go outside.
Thanks for choosing the second stanza as your favorite, when you tell me it could stand on its own that makes me happy.
Have a lovely weekend,
Jesse

Congratulations on achieving All Time Best for your poetry. This poem is whimsical and light-hearted, but adds a ray of sunshine and a smile to a serious problem. I enjoyed reading your poem.

Droughts are serious business so it's nice to take a humorous tone to it. It can help take the bite out of it. At no point did it feel like you were playing down the subject. This was a well written piece. Hopefully rain comes your way soon.

Sometimes you have to find the humor in things. We do the same thing in Florida. "Extreme weather passes gas", lol!
Clever and contemporary - nicely done.

The author's words are engaging, lovely, descriptive, filled with a
great way to look at the climate and are creative. I pondered on
these words and even though it is so hot here in Florida - "it is a
beautiful day"! The artwork compliments these words! Great Poem!

It's a beautiful day every day we wake up, I guess... LOL. Jesse, I'm not here a lot anymore, and I haven't read your work in a while, but this one made me smile. Thank you for sharing!

Loved the satire, and it was very well written. I do hope your drought will be over soon. And yes, what was God thinking when He decided to let it rain while the sun was supposed to be out? LOL
Thanks for sharing!

Nice job on the satire. I don't envy you living in California. We have experienced climate change here in Maine, but not to the degree that you have out west.
