What a beautiful and uplifting poem. My condolences for the loss of your sister! I think you have captured well the positivity that is conferred by the thoughts that all those who we lost are reunited in a better place. I wish you all the best for the contest.

We die but once and after mortality the only pain we may experience is what we failed to do while here

I feel pain, acceptance, and hope in your heartfelt words. I, too, am of the age where people and things that I love are moving on. Although you mention our loneliness increasing, you cling to hope that soon you will no longer feel isolated or pain. It ends on a hopeful note.
Well done. You could have entered this in a faith contest as well. Your faith is what comes through the most.

A positive poem about death. At my age there are more dead family and friends, I will be glad to be reunited with those that have gone before. The rhymes gave your poem a lighter touch, which gave it good tone.

Touche! Birthdays, like Kix, are for kids. For seniors, it's wakening with another ache.

Thanks. I'm fine. Cold blooded as a rattler. Death is a moment in time where one life ends, and another begins. Better. For with it will never come death again, and the pains we experienced will be g o n e!

Hi Tom,
This is quite a masterpiece
poem. I'm so sorry about
your sister, yet, like you've
written, she's no longer in
pain, and has no sickness in
Heaven. My late husband had
a sudden and unexpected
passing away from a
pulmonary embolism two and
a half years ago. Blessings ~

We with faith have hope. If wrong, we are no worse off than the atheist. Be well.

Please accept my sympathy. I know that is no help, but saying nothing is worse. I hope you will find ease in writing about your sister's life from time to time when the time is right. In the meantime, this is a fitting poem for her release from suffering. Blessings, Kate xx

I have a unique perspective on death. I am glad she has passed on. Life is a seat at a dinner table, and soon enough the meal is over. After, we will die no more. That's a time to celebrate. Thanks for your thoughts.

Tom, please accept my condolences on the loss of your sister. I am so sorry to hear this news. Yes, the pain remains for those left behind - but she is welcomed with cheers, and as you say, she is free from pain, physical and emotional. Thoughtfully written, and thought-provoking.
Wendy
