This is an interesting interpretation of this picture K and I love how the merman has come to save this boat, old and tired, from any more trips with those who don't look after her. A great tale, very creative. Cheers

A good story poem. It is very innovative that you made the boat the central theme You personified the boat and the boat tired of being dragged by humans is saved by a merman...A nice entry for the club.

This is a stunning entry for the "Sail Away" event. It is imaginative in that you begin with Dusk and pink clouds, and describe the life and history of the old boat. You tell an interesting tale that has a happy ending. Great work.

A lovely poem to suit the prompt of the beautiful image. I like that the merman understand her weariness and her whole life of service, and offered her a special new life with him beneath the sea. Well written.

After reading your great poem, Aussie, I look at the picture
with the ship with a new focus. It does have a worn look
to it. Your club response was unique and well presented.
I like the way the ship was transformed from old and on its
last life into something new with an inviting future though
below the water.
Thanks for participating, Jan

Anything to do with the sea and ships, you got me. Aust. is a big island and surrounded by 4 seas. We were brought up swimming. Thank you my friend. Hey, did the ad for clubs work?
-
It seems participation is a hit and miss. There are lots and lots of members, but the same few post regularly. Club participation is down all over FS. Sail on! Sail on! ⚓🛳️🚢🔱

Yes, I noticed the drop off in postings. And the ones that win are the same old same old. K xx

We pay a subscription, we should not have to review hundreds of poems to get to page 1.

I have been saving and saving and reviewing, reviewing reviewing . . .

As Tom calls me his 'down under sweetheart' I will write to him about the lack of writing. K xx

Very lovely, Aussie!
How I love the sea and anything to do with mermaids and mermen!
Your lines flow smoothly. I read your poem twice. Once silently, and once aloud. Loved the phrasing and cadence of phrases.
Thank you for sharing!
I know I need to review more; I often do not have the luxury of doing as much as I used to do. I promise I'll be better. Feel free to nudge me now and again!

Awful long way across the world to give you a nudge :-) xx

That makes it even more special!
Seriously, my husband and I are caretakers for our little grandson during the week, and I cannot begin to tell you how much joy that brings me, but I am so exhausted at day's and week's end trying to do everything that needs to be done in our own home, that while I write and read voraciously, sometimes the reviewing falls by the wayside.
So nudge away! :)
Here's to a beautiful new week!

We just wish the sun would shine! We have had two major floods, the third wasn't as bad. You could say it's been raining since January. I get fed up with the reviewing, I said to Tom once, we don't have 2c in our dollars. Honestly, if they want us to read, up the payment to at least 50c. All our pence have gone now and the 5c is the only silver. I don't think it's fair to the newbies because they don't know the ropes and personally, I think 3c is an insult to the reviewer?

Of course this is a sixer, this mermaid approves. I like how this ship is rescued by a merman and then she becomes a mermaid. This is a unique sea tale that reads like a mini movie. I love it and will read it again and again.

Hello Kace... I loved this verse. Your use of appropriate sailing terms, the story in the poem that really draws your reader in to the angst and exhaustion of the ship... then the ultimate... renewal and afterlife. Loved it.

Aussie,
This is such a beautiful tribute to all the ships that have been "well used" and succumbed to the sea. I love the introduction of mythology and turning the she-vessel into a mermaid. Very creative and a fun tale to read.

What a beautiful poem, Kay. I enjoyed the picture of the ship. The fact that your poem encompassed a merman and a mermaid was thrilling. Both are a rare find. And the fact that she swam to him both smiling and free as she thought I am the Lady Anne. Wonderfully done.
