Excellent writing. I particularly like the linking of family with the 'times' Your descriptions are vivid and I could easily follow the trials and tribulations of the individuals and families.
It would be an interesting writing adventure to put your knowledge of family into the context of a historical novel. I only found one catch: "...Charles Broadwater, whose ship Robert & John made trips..."

history. I enjoyed reading it. The research you did is evident.
The picture was a great pairing, too. You chronicled the
generations well. Your story was well organized and filled with
super interesting details. I knew how many women died
in childbirth, and how many young children didn't live
long, too. There will never be any generations in the future
like those of the past. The families were of strong breed and
worked so hard--no running to WalMart for anything little thing.
