Hi Rod, your poem is simply beautiful...light and sweet. It reads and flows well and has good imagery within. I especially liked:
A lanky youth and long-haired girl
repose upon a blanket spread
o'er buttercups and violets,
what's in their hearts yet to be said.
(Very nice. You've captured the essence of young love.)

This really is that quintessential romantic poem, with these symbolic images of flowers and spring, the season of generation and mating. We see the lovers here reclining in this idyllic pastoral scene, at the center of it, while the rougher edges of the world melt away and leave them in the garden of Eden. estory

I like your celebration of eternal spring which is what lovers experience. Nicely rhymed quatrains with literary allusion to Greek mythology. I think this will do well in the contest!
