OMG! Now that is a flash fiction story with a stunning ending! Going by your title, I'm guessing he had cancer and was in the final stages. One jump and he was cured! Wow. Well done, Paul, and good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

Thanks, Sandra. It took me a while to come up with that cure.

Wow! This is crazy creative, beginning with the title. You told just enough that the reader can surmise what took place prior to the scene opening. "The panoramic view is marvelous - worthy of a poem,"...stunning. Best wishes in the contest.

Thanks, LJ. Cancer is all around us. Maybe someday there will be a cure that is better than the one I described.

Certainly a cure for cancer! I am not sure how I feel about the subject. But what I do know is that the writing is sharp, thought-provoking, and excellent.
Best wishes
Mary

I actually laughed out loud. Does that mean I have a sick sense of humor?
Very well done. Can you imagine the pandemonium in the plane?
Great work, deserving of the stars.
Best wishes.

One in a lifetime for sure - first and last. Yeah, why not go out with a bang at over a hundred miles an hour - leave a deep impression. It's a shame we didn't get to read your poetic thoughts. Splat!

That's a great review, LisaMay. The poetic thoughts would probably have had to been a Haiku or some other really short form.

... or maybe one of FS incredibly short contest prompts, such as a poem in 6 words.

On careful reading I see that the narrator didn't bother with any equipment. Hence 'the cure for cancer' is quick death. A true writer with his observations and wish for a pen and paper.

I enjoyed this story very much. The length mirrors
the quick pace of free falling. I also find it interesting
that you left it open-ended. Leaving the conclusion up
to the reader is genius.

Thanks, K.L. You always leave it up to the reader when you don't know what to say.

Your vivid use of words makes the reader feels like she is sky diving. I like how you mention the view is worthy of a poem, a line that shows how beautiful the view is.

I have always thought sky diving would be fun, but I'm a huge chicken. Now for cancer. I am a stage four survivor. It doesn't have to be a death sentence. Thank you for sharing this post with us.
