I have one of those, too. Her name was Lainie. Thank you for sharing your memories of a precious fur baby. Your syllables were perfect for the prompt. Best wishes to you.

A dog is a best friend for sure. Like your poem and image. It warms the heart to see a dog so loved. I for one know your feeling. It will be a year since our dog left this earth in June.

We humans are weak. We so easily get in a position of dependence upon our cherished pets. We too lost a family dog that will never ever be forgotten. We think of her daily.
Very sad in it's brevity but so nicely done. Thanks.

Well done for fitting this into the syllable count for the contest. You could have put:
"She
Remains
In my mind
And in my heart", but what you've got works too.

Thanks for your review.

Wow. How did you get a picture of my dog? Amazing how it resembles my bearded collie, Buddy. Saved him from a pound thirteen years and counting. Still, as spry as a zephyr.

It's amazing how alike some dogs are. We lost her a year ago due to diabetes.

Beautiful one. I can relate to this one. You have expressed this well, as all who have lost a loved dog will agree. The only suggestion would be to consider using "heart" instead of "mind", although of course they remain in both heart and mind. Best wishes for your entry.

Thanks for your review. I used mind to reiterate that she is always thought of.

Ah yes. For years I couldn?t go near the pet food aisle at the supermarket. It?s those little things?. And ?heart? would probably have been too predictable you chose wisely.

Hello,
An awesome entry for the Tetractys Contest. It flows well with beautifully descriptive words that paint a clear mental picture.
The theme is interesting heart-felt and sad. Pets are part of the family.
Well done! I wish you the best in the contest.

There's no connection quite like the one we share with our faithful animals. That love and devotion comes through clearly in every line of your poem. I very much enjoyed this one.

I feel sure I have seen this before, and fairly recently too. Or something very close indeed to it. I wonder if anyone else has that sense of deja vu.

She is so cute. I know you miss her. Dogs are like children. I hate to hear about you losing your precious dog. This is a great tribute. Good night. Take care.
