This brings back a lot of sad memories. But then, life goes on. May the soul of Denny, Travis and the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, may the rest in everlasting peace, Amen. All the best in the contest.

Oh my goodness, Precious you are amazing. I am almost speechless, but thank you! Travis was the kind of boy that even my own children didn't come close to the amount of kindness and compassion that he had for others. Even all the times spent with us, he was so respectful to his own brother and sister, as anyone who knew him said that they never heard him complain or have a bad word to say about anyone. I was proud of my sister in- love, who was married to my brother how she was such a credit to how he handled himself for those two years after my brother died. He is truly missable, and some days the tears still fall, but he is with Jesus, and his dad. For that I am thankful. Also very thankful to you once again for the six stars and such a lovely review. Thank you my friend!

That's a change of pace from your last one. It is times like these that your faith gets tested. As I get older, I want drive less and less. Thousands die every year in car accidents. It is going to be interesting to see how these driverless cars work.

Paul, not sure I am ready for driverless cars, because II would worry about the technology failing at some point, just like our phones and computers get error messages at times. Thanks for your kind review and comments about Travis, as he and my brother will always be missed but we're thankful for the years God lent them to us!

You did a great job honoring your nephew with your words and your artwork. I can't imagine the pain one family had to endure in such a short period of time. Prayers for all.

Pain is bearable when shared by others, I hope. Travis looks so happy in the pictures! I am so glad you allowed me to share your grief and prayers for this boy and his father.

Your loss touches my heart and your words and photos bring tears to my eyes. My own deep loss is recalled and relived as I feel your pain. This short verse is quite powerful.

Debi - thank you for putting life into a five-line poem with an honest voice about life's tragic end times. I am sure that the union of the father and the son has been part of the gift for those still living to reflect on and keep their memory alive in your hearts for sure.

What a terrible sequence of events! It's awful, how tragedy can sometimes seem to stalk such a small area. Your poem effectively conveys the twin sides of mourning - questioning and loss, and then joy in the memories of loved ones.

Beautifully written.

This is a touching, and sentimental poem. It is beautifully written and presented. I can't imagine the amount of sorrow these deaths caused the families, no words could explain. I am happy that poetry is a source of expression for you to cope with your losses.

When faced with the overwhelming heartbreak of the worst of tragedies, we do the natural, human thing--say "WHY?" Then we think of how we'll miss them and that, if they were saved, they are in Heaven. Your poem is very moving and expressive.

What a tragic story, but what an obviously loving family. I hope you've all been able to see each other through.

Your poem is sad but beautiful, full of grief, longing, faith and love - a beautiful use of the 5 Line Poem parameters. Good luck in the contest.

You're welcome. Again, I'm so sorry for both your losses, but how wonderful that you and your sister-in-law (I love the phrase "sister-in-love") are so close, and can see each other through. Your nephew sounds as though he were an amazing soul. Credit, as you said, to your sister-in-law, but to you and the rest of our family as well. As they say, it takes a village.
