Excellent entry for the club. Good syllables count and connection between lines. Well done!

You have adequately and beautifully captured, in a Haiku, the essence of the illustration. The title is perfect. I appreciate the added information about rare cranes included in your author notes. As a musician, I can almost hear the overture.

You created a magical sceptical here and my imagination ran riot with the scene. These cranes play as the moon blushes, much enjoyed Debra, love Dolly x

Elegant in both presentation and word...
Of course I had to run off to determine what "agnostic signalling" was...
You keep me on my toes, Debra!

Great poem-as with all Haiku, the objective is twofold, to portray a vivid scene in a few words, and to 'wake up' the reader to notice a brief momentary insight into something beyond herself, or himself. This work does that for me.

A timely poem as it's supposed to be the Blood Flower moon tonight with the lunar eclipse. In Japanese culture, the crane symbolizes a long, happy marriage. But the red orb is more likely the sun just as their flag has that red circle to symbolize the land of the sun.
Enjoyed your ekphrastic haiku!
