Very well done poem, Paul. It is powerful and blunt and in only five lines.
I also think those Russian soldiers who believe the propaganda will suddenly become away that the necessary war to kill nazis was all a lie and those they killed were victims.

Good question! Perhaps some of them did think like that. But one thing that is spot on is 'senseless killing.' A most topical subject nicely constructed. The middle line creates a subtle change in the lines. Also rhyming, you have done very well to meet the requirements for this 5 line poem-- in my opinion, Giddy

This war is savage and senseless.it hurts me inside when I think of the innocent lives lost. This is well written and passionate. Reading this definitely made me emotional, the sign of a good poet.

Well done Paul. Those soldiers are afraid of Putin and so drilled by the hierarchy they dare not go against the ruler. One would think the nightmares would follow them home and then PTSD would take over. Thanks for sharing. K xx

don't want to be there...they say their sabotaging
their own tanks...so they don't have to kill with them...
how awful Paul to be forced to be in a war you don't believe
in...those soldiers are innocent human beings...makes
me sick when I think about it...the same as the people
in Shanghia...how can they lock 25 million people in tiny
apartments with no food...this has been going on for months...

I wouldn't condemn the Russian soldiers in general, not all would be deliberately doing the wrong thing, if that were true we'd have condemn our own, their are many in Russia who were protesting the war, but were being shut down, some of our boys have been guilty of atrocities.
