Jose, I truly understand the need for a break. I break from FanStory from time to time, sometimes for months, because, well, life gets in the way. I see you are taking a break to work on your home. I see also that you are requesting well wishes to get out of a gloom. In both cases, I wish you the absolute best! Your poem speaks to me; it has the absolute pangs of a life fully lived, with a healthy dose of writer's block, yet it's a solid work from a true poet. Take time for you. Rest, recover, complete your real-world projects, then return safe to us so we can read more from you! I would imagine that just as you say you have loved reading others' poems and stories there is equal love back toward your work as well. Again, all the best to you - don't stay away forever!

I'm sorry you feel this has to be your last contribution for a while. Hope you'll come back when you feel up to it. I know sometimes we have to prioritise other things, but for me, writing is helpful, so finding the time to write is important.

You stated the need well in your poem. The lines have

Helen, I feel sad about leaving for a while, but I have to. My heart is not in my poetry. I strive to bring smiles, but all I write is anger and sadness. I will be back don't count me out. :) Thanks for being a friend.

Okay, Jose! I have been mulling over about Mexican American heritage per your request a while back. It would take a lot of research - you probably could write more about it. Maybe when you return, I will be ready to write it. I find the whole definition of "Hispanic" really confusing.
