The plot is well laid out .My only suggestion is ,may be .you could include a romance between Anya and Pierce or any other person .The n there would be more emotional conflict....All the best..

I would put paragraph 4 after paragraph 6 and before paragraph 7. Otherwise, I think it adequately describes the story in an interesting way to get people interested.

Have not followed closely, but no problem following storyline.

Comment about step-father indicates the reason she ran away was to escape him.

May consider Ugly in her nature and looks, Betheida Nightshade, the Maid of Bitmore Swamp, was a vile and filthy witch from the village of Candlewick.

Eliminates the run-on portion of that paragraph. (Just a suggestion.)

I have a feeling she will fall victim to her past, but still manage to live out the peace she wants. At least, I hope so! I bet the journey will be enthralling and riveting. This sounds like a great story.

I don't have the benefit of having read the story, but I have agonised over synopses of my own in the past. This is written clearly and left no ambiguity about what was happening, which is good. Assuming this is for the purposes of submission, I have two thoughts.

First, I though synopses were usually written in present tense (the fact that the opening phrase of your penultimate paragraph is in present tense makes me wonder if you've already tried this).

Second, unlike a blurb, which is intended to lure readers, a synopsis should usually spell out the whole story. So, rather than ending on a question, explain how it gets answered.

I hope that helps, and good luck :-)

Mike

I like this synopsis, Shirley. I didn't begin reading this book at the very start, so I appreciate reading this. It's answered some questions I had and now it all makes more sense.

She will fall victim. It has to be pretty difficult to hide a past like one must have after being a 'vile, filthy, witch' for so many years. In addition, whoever is trying to disclose her past has her daughter, Anya, to use as leverage. Bethelda had better be very careful.

Sounds like a fun book.

Good entertaining read.

Something so simple as an 'n't' can change the whole meaning of a sentence. I'm just glad it ended with 'your outstanding writing,' which I'm trusting clarified the goofy mistake. But remember, I told you upfront that I do little to no proofing. LOL. Enjoy the rest of your week! And I am disappointed that I HAVEN'T been around for the earlier parts of your story. :-)
