This poem is very enchanting.
-I felt enveloped in the poem from line 5 on. This is where readers see what you see and where the enchantment begins. It builds in strength and picks up magnificence from that point on, straight through to the end.
All the best.

Thank you, Marien.
Yes you really did get it. I wanted the reader to sense the magic and get drunk a little on the sights and sounds described within.

Poetry does express the beauty which birds and the bees enjoy. When I was reading your poem, I could visualize the aftereffects of the nectar being enjoyed by a hummingbird. Did you know they fly backward?

Haha, yes Rosemary, I know that hummingbirds fly backwards as I have witnessed this myself on many occasions in my back yard in Arizona before I moved to North Carolina.

This was like a symphony . Truly a feast for the ears. I love how you equated the normal butterfly and bee activity to the hint of a more. This was thought provoking and lovely. Thank you for posting. Gretchen

Great Free Verse with only the last stanza rhyming. I liked the rhythm of the poem. I also liked the artwork you chose for your writing. It is quite playful and colorful. It showcases the poem well.

-Very nice artwork and presentation, John.
-It is good to see you.
-You wrote a very good poem with vivid imagery
that paints a good word picture of nature.
-The opening verse invites us to see the view from your garden.
-You make is sound like a magical place with
"gaily painted upturned faces"
"Wandering minstrels hummed and strummed"
-The last two verses are excellent, as well.
-A very good entry; good luck in the contest.

Where would our world be without bees and other pollinators? We love it when butterflies visit our gardens. What a wonderfully written poem.
Good luck in the contest!
Have a great day, and God bless.

Yes, so true, Mike. Without bees and pollinators the human race would really be in trouble.
Thanks for the review

This poem uses personification well. I like that you used a different metaphor in almost every stanza to create your beautiful image of bees pollinating a colorful well bloomed garden. I especially liked the wandering minstrel metaphor.
Keep writng and stay healthy.
Good luck and stay healthly

Lord,
This is such a wonderful poem about the miraculous beauty of the symbiotic love affair between plant life and the birds and the bees. I loved it when you referred to "requited love." This is truly exceptional.

I like the art work--it's loose and free. Good choice. The only line in the poem that gives me pause is the one where voices are smelled--6th line. Other than that, I think this mostly a very good poem. Best of luck and have a happy summer smelling flowers.
