Greetings...
Congratulations are in order for this is excellent work. Well done!
Too often, poets view the freedom granted by free verse poetry (no requirements for structure, format, rhythm, meter, or rhyme) as license to abandon focus and discipline in their words; as an excuse for mediocrity. You have not done so in the least.
Strong, clear theme. Focused content. Natural flow. Comfortable pace. Outstanding!
Your word choices and phrases were visual, evocative, and powerful. And your metaphors were... PHENOMENAL
- Gaily painted upturned faces
- Fragrant muted singing voices
- Busy bumbling winged admirers
- Honey-breathed surrogate lovers
- Great bright sea, ocean of colour
- Wandering minstrels hummed and strummed
- Pollen bedecked dancers swaying rythmically
Be still my beating heart. Thank you for writing and sharing this outstanding poem with us. Kudos to you!
PS - I believe the proper spelling is "rhythmically"
Blessings...

Wow, what a beautiful review you have written here my friend. I am truly humbled, Curt, by your most generous words. Am I poet yet? I constantly ask myself. I have tinkered for some time with verse. For this poem I did feel something special and it was received well.
Thank you so much for the sixer very much appreciated too.
All the very best

This is a beautiful reflection of the diverse beauty, colour and fragrance of a garden. It celebrates the sights, scents and sounds of nature busily at work to bring pleasure and productivity to all. Lovely writing.

Wow, I almost thought this was a rhyming poem, it is so satiny-smooth -- well done indeed! And the imagery it evokes is wonderful -- scents and sounds, colors and emotion. Best of luck in the contest!

A beautiful poem inspired by one the greatest muses -- Mother Nature! You did a wonderful job of painting a vibrant, sun-soaked picture in my mind's eye, and now I think I'll go outside for a little stroll ;) Cheers!

This was a beautifully written poem. The descriptive word mad it very enjoyable to read, and the imagery was well done. The illustration went perfectly with your poem. Thank you for sharing.

Your brilliant description of the love affair that takes place in the Spring between insects and the flowers they pollinate is very welcome as we descend into the Autumn doldrums that precede the onset of Winter. I never really saw the process as clearly as you presented it. I will probably never view the process in the same way again.

Your use of words shows how magical and enchanted a garden can be. I like your descriptions of the hummingbirds and bees. "The soft drone of happy nectar gatherers" is a vivid line that appeals to the senses.
