Jaybird1, I love this poem. It's hopeful without being syrupy, it doesn't discount people of different faiths than yours, and it makes perfect sense. The rhyme is solid, and it flows like water when you read it. Good job!

Hello Jay,
Ths one really got my attention because without those memories of years gone by about family and friends and all the good times we had many years ago is what keeps me going. They help me get through a lot of restless nights when sleep won't come.

Hi Jay, I couldn't agree more. True friendship is most important, almost more than family. Often family ties are kept because it's seen the right thing to do, but a friend who sticks with you through life is invaluable. Ulla:>)

Such a fine tribute to friends. Those people who have helped us grow along the way are worth their weight in gold.
Your rhymes and metre work very well here to move the poem forward to the conclusion that we are to hold those friends deep within out heart.
