Another very well written post. Thank you for sharing this with us. I am going to keep this in my bookcase. I have three sons that need to know this even though they were raised in church, but have fallen away. May God bless you! Teri

Well Teri7, if they belong to Jesus, He will never fall away from them. Let's pray He stirs their hearts with His great love for them and they get renewed and refreshed in Him. Thank you for reviewing and God bless you, Dennis

An interesting interpretation that can vary to God's resting place for that short time. Surely it is not the hell as we now refer. I do believe that those in faith will meet His presence for judgement at the time of death.

That's an interesting interpretation, wondering exactly what verses on which you are basing that take? Thanks for commenting.

This is a good one brother Dennis, it's one I would quite happily avoid answering if someone were to ask me. I like the way you've tied all the loose ends together, to come to the conclusion, but that is always the comforting scripture, "absent from the body, present with the Lord" beautifully written, blessings Roy

This was an interesting take on what happens when we die. I might have missed it but I didn't really see you make a case that Jesus went to Hell. The verse. From Matthew said he was in the ground for three days. Which to me means the tomb.

His body was in the tomb, but He was in the center of the earth. I don?t believe Nesus went to Hell so it?s nice to know I didn?t make a case for such an error.
Thanks for reviewing.

You have some computer glitches at the end of your story. Other than that, it is nicely written. I enjoyed reading this story and like the message it sends to all who care to listen. The dialogues is well done and carries the story forward in a nice manner.

Ok, I'm confused by this. Are you saying Paradise is in the center of the earth instead of the Heavens? I always thought of Paradise and Heaven as the same place. The Bosom of Abraham is the center of the earth???
This is a thought provoking piece. Have a good evening. Shirley

Why don?t you read it again, especially the scriptures? And then we can talk about it? There?s a couple of other scriptures which shed light on this too, but it was a long post already so I didn?t post them. I will if you like. God bless, Dennis

I have read it again, and I'm no better off. God sent the rich man to hell because he did not aid Lazarus. Is Shoel where Catholics get purgatory? My original questions stand. Have a great day. Shirley

Hello Dennis,
I well remember the story of Lazarus the beggar. From somewhere I've heard more than once that Jesus preached to the souls in hell, but I don't know that I've read that in the bible. I guess I'll have to see what I can find out about that. Thanks for sharing your faith and wisdom.
Have a blessed day.

Hi Tom, the reference is here: For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit, by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison, who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.
1 Peter 3:18-20 NKJV
-
That being said Dennis, does that mean he descended to wherever the souls are who sinned but never knew Christ? Do they get a chance to choose to follow him and gain eternal life?
-
This is a difficult passage, but many good teachers believe the Spirit of Christ was in Noah, called ?a preacher of righteousness?. When he preached, they had their opportunity. My friend/brother, I know what it feels like to be full of dismay thinking I must be lost after all when I fell into sin. In fact, that fear often drove me to the inlet and I inevitably found peace and joy, sweet relief in Christ?s Words of assurance, especially in John.
The teaching of sinless perfection is simply not true. We grow in grace as we take in His word of grace.
I am of the persuasion we need God?s assuring word everyday, at least I do and I believe He responds when we feel like we?re going under like Peter when he failed water walking 1.
God bless you my brother!

Thanks Dennis for your caring response. I appreciate your thoughtful words. I'm going to think more about what you've said. God bless and keep you.
