I love this one Debi. I should have went back into your portfolio days ago. Of course I just figured out how to do that.
What did I find out? Almost all of your submissions boast an "All Time Best" badge, amongst a litany of other recognitions. You really enjoy this don't you. You are lucky there is a two post a day limit or you would never get away from your computer.
I really like how every verse ends with a line proclaiming the exceptionalism of God. And the very last line is what gives me hope, he has already paid the price.
You are so talented. You make reviewing fun. I have to give away another one of my rare six-star ratings for this one. I like it that much.

Gary, when I asked you to read a few of my poems, it was more so to just give me your honest feedback, because I love your writing so much. What a great entry for this contest. I like the way you have expressed the truth in your poem, we cannot rely on horoscopes or other things like that, Jesus Christ is the only one who knows all about us, and can guide us in all our decisions. Great rhyming and very well written.

You are a gem Anne! Thank you for those very lovely words and your most gracious review. Life is hard enough just living in a world: as predicted, the good will seem bad and bad will seem good. (not exact words) But we sure don't want to play in satan's playground, where he is invited to join the so called fun. Thanks again Anne, as its always so nice to be surrounded by lovely people like yourself who actually strengthens faith every time you hear from a friend that feels the same as you do.

Thank you once again Terry. Your kind review and comments mean so much, as I respect your opinion above any of my wonderful friends here, and I love that you are always honest, but kind.
Sometimes I wonder how I have won as many as I have, since I am just getting use to the extremely different platform poets now have. I would have failed my college writing classes if I had not started every line with a cap and punctuation to show where to breath in the middle and the end. But I am learning & thank you once again for helping me in so many aspects here.

Well, I can't say that I agree with you completely. There are plenty of charlatans out there who just want to take your money, but I do believe that many people have the gift of E.S.P. and/or fortune telling.
There was a woman who appeared on T.V. lots of times - I can't think of her name right now - and many of her predictions/perceptions were accurate. She was a very religious person and certainly didn't believe that the devil was behind her abilities. In fact, she always made a point of giving the thanks and credit to God.
Aside from all that, I really enjoyed reading your poem because it is so well constructed. It flowed from beginning to end and your rhyming words were clever. Best regards, Lilly

Yes, and didn't she have kind of a gruff voice? But my poem was mostly just how I felt after my friend experimented with playing in that playground and ended up dead because Satan told her to kill herself. He convinced her she would never be suitable for God's forgiveness, so it's a personal thing for me.

OMG - I just got goosebumps! What a horrible, horrible thing! I don't remember her voice, but I remember seeing her on Montel Williams a lot and was very impressed with her. That was such a long time ago, I wonder where they are today.

The narrator of this poem clearly has a very strong faith and has a deep personal story that inspired this poem. I am intrigued by the last stanza which has the line "to listen to the human signs - is trusting satan's lies". I wonder whether the narrator is referring only to fortune tellers etc as these "human signs" or, if they are referring more widely to any humans. That would be certainly an interesting way to live in we didn't learn and listen to others. An interesting work. Good job

Actually, I was referring to only things that seem to conjure up spirits and horoscopes that make you take them as real signs. Lol, I chopped that line down so far where I couldn't remove any more and have it make sense.
I'm sure you know how that is.That line was only meant for things that are already playing in Satan's playground. It's not my place to judge anyone, so this poem was referring to how I felt after seeing a friend possessed after she took these things too serious and committed suicide. .........Thanks so much KJ
