Ha ha ha, you made me smile with the giant cardinal, I see a few of those walking around on holiday as they have been scorched by the sun and I call them giant lobsters! So you're not looking forward to the sweltering summer months then? I always hope England will be hot, but I am often disappointed. A fine free write, Love Dolly x

No, I'm not looking forward to Summer at all. The humidity here is brutal. I'm glad I made you smile. Thanks for reviewing.

We don't have humidity here, but we are closer to the sun and it is a bearing down on ya heat till you really need cover. I have a parasol to use outside. What was old will be new again. HAHA. Well done, Yvonne. Nancy:)

Parasol is a good idea. I see people using them, but I never have. I have a garden hat that hold water in the crown. That's helps. Thanks, Nancy.

Well, even the sun thinks it's too hot, Yvonne. Your free verse
as fun to read with all of the examples of why--esp the one
about the duck and the sauna. At least the duck can get in
the water. Your lines read smooth with well chosen words
that create great imagery. I could feel the heat and humidity
as I read. I like the formatting of your lines, the color scheme,
and the image. Your use of words like sweltering, sizzling,
sunburn, and scorch add to your dislike of summer.
We are forecast to reach 102* this coming
Saturday.
Stay cool.
Respectfully, Jan

In this part of Texas, we normally don't have the humidity, but hey, 110 degrees is hot no matter what. LOL Thank you for sharing this club entry with us. I enjoyed reading.

They say it's dry heat, but I don't care. You're right. Hot is hot. My oven's dry heat, but I'm not sticking my head in it. Thanks, Barbara.

You want to try it here. The temperature is 51 and the sky is overcast. Yes humidity is high and there is rain in the air. I wish I was back in CA. But I can understand how you could have too much of it. But I would like a little more.

I wish it would rain every day. It's going to hit the 80s here today, but some rain in sight for tomorrow. Temp of 51 and overcast sky sounds good.

-Nice artwork and summery presentation.
-I like the song lyrics at the beginning,
followed by some off those sweltering
summer images, like 'sizzling temperatures'
and the comparison to a 'giant cardinal.'
-Good closing verse, too.
-Well done and have a good first day of May!!

As I live in Florida, I will add snakes and lizards to the list of summer things that we have to abide by. That's a great little poem, and the picture of the sun sweating is perfect! Nice job with your challenge.

Thank you. The humidity is awful here. I wouldn't like worrying about snakes.

Well said!
I smiled because you described me. And you must be related to my wife and her mother and sisters who find heat intolerable. It's a good thing that the outside chores are mine!
Best wishes.

I think we must be related. I wish summer would just disappear from the calendar. Thanks for reviewing.

Lol! I love the humorous images in this post, especially humidity to drown a duck. Good poem for the potlach club entry. Being from the south, I could relate to images.
