You don't hear criticism of summer that often. It's nice to hear as I agree with this assessment! It's not usually popular with my friends when I yearn for Autumn. I enjoyed the poem. Thanks for posting!

This poem, Summertime, seems to find that the extremes of summer, such as radiant sunlight, come with negative effects on skin, ambient heat, and sweaty situations. Sounds like the AC is broken.

Summer is also great for those with lots of shade trees and really reliable air conditioning! I'm from Mississippi; it gets really hot and humid here.

Hahaha!!! I love your spirit and your satirical point of view. I well know the sweltering summertime in Arkansas and have described the humid days as "living under a wet wool blanket"... and then there are those mosquitoes in the Arkansas Delta that can drive you mad! I LOVE your poem.

My youngest daughter lives and works outdoors in Las Vegas. I do not know how she does it. The older I become, the worse the weather is on me. I can not stand the humidity or heat. One year in Vegas, I was so miserable. When the casino waitress saw me, she wanted to call 911. I was given water and treated as if I were her mother. Thankfully, I did not need the EMT's. However, if I visit my daughter, I will go in their so called winter. Thank you for posting. I do not miss the weather in Vegas.

As a New Englander I am a fickle consumer of weather.... Winter? Brrrr! Too cold! Summer? Please....humidity and one can only take off so many layers before being arrested! I propose A Spring/Fall rotation.

Hello Yvonne,
This is a good description of the time of the season we are about to enter. I call it the "sticky" season. All my shirts stick to me. Sweating is my favorite pastime in the summer.
