This story reminded me of sharing a room with 2 twin beds with my sister. She had very strict rules too. But I didn't care. I totally idolized her. Those are some of the best childhood memories I have.

A lovely reminiscence about sisterly powerplay and the magnetic attraction of radio shows. Inner Sanctum's creaking door didn't feature in my days of growing up, but The Goon Show certainly did. No interruption brooked! LOL

Inner Sanctum's creaking door started, and I tuned out. I understand why your sister had rules. I wonder if she was also afraid and feared any movement on your part might make her scream. That program scared me half of to death.

Thank you for sharing this interesting story. I can remember Saturday nights when I was a child, gathering around the radio listening to the stories. Inner Sanctum was not my favourite, remember the creaking door.

Hi, I felt confused after reading that. You started with dialogue which is present tense and then wrote like it was part of an historical report.
I think I got what you tired to say but I it felt like an Easter egg hunt. Great potential but confusing right now.

As I slept alone during my entire childhood, I was the originator and the terminator of all my nighttime adventures. Having an overactive imagination I managed to frighten myself without a radio or TV. Of course my adventures were often influenced by earlier viewed or listened adventures. I did not however, have a partner in crime.

I even remember the creaking door. It didn't scare me because I was too young to know what any of it meant. I'm so glad you reminded me of that show. Now I have to write about my father's favorite radio show on Sunday nights. I really hope this story does well in the contest. Thanks for the memory.
