I love the upbeat tempo of this poem, which is perfectly matched to the words. You write of contrasts, but I don't think any of them can have been unhappy as you say you have had a wonderful life. Apart from this, I think my favourite words are:
I've gone across rapid waters
And water that was standing still.
this speaks to me of times of action interspersed with peace.

well, good for you for explaining why. Lots of things you mentioned, so many people take for granted, but you listed them as good things that helped make you who you are, and you count it a wonderful life.

What a beautiful poem this is and indeed more than that, a beautiful story of a beautiful life. I do remember a dear friend of mine who once told me before he passed on ( he was sixty years old than me) that I should not mourn him when he passed because he'd had a remarkable and wonderful life. Now I've had a few more years to understand that, I feel much the same way.

This is a very enjoyable read. The rhythm and rhyme help to add pace to the poem and the contrasting ideas are a pleasure to read. The final 2 lines do an excellent job of summing up the poem. I just wondered if it was deliberate that 'all in all' didn't start with a capital letter. Thanks for sharing.

I think we can look at our lives and say it's been good, I've been with the same woman for 51 years, had two beautiful, loving daughters and five grands, I've seen a great deal of the world, yes, it's a good life, well done, blessings Roy

This poem is amazing! I love how you kept the meter going for the entire poem, and I couldn't help tapping my foot to the rhythm! You have done an amazing job with your poem, "I've." I also enjoyed the title.
