This 5-7-5, Reading is Fun, has the right setup and notes that everyone enjoys reading once they get into it. Even dogs and statues can be seen reading.

True. I know Buddy just finished the Hobbit series. That's my dog. He has a different taste than I which over the past year included Lord Byron, "Will". Wordsworth and Frost.

Wonderful, humorous, precious! This little poem and picture are a treasure together. Though, I do wonder why Garfield over, say, Marmaduke or even Snoopy? I guess some dogs find cats irresistible. ;-)

I had Marmaduke when a reviewer told me the coins was syllable based and it 5-7-5 words so I had to edit it to meet the requirements of the contest.

Oh my gosh! I totally forgot about the syllable counts! That was good that they let you know. I should have known that writers usually have a perfect reason

The dog is one character. He is always looking for friends. He seems to want to share in others' daily life. He sure is cute. And imagine if he could talk. He would probably want to read Garfield. He looks like a friendly dog that would make a great companion. Thank you for posting.

My dog can turn pages, just as he does his prayer rug, which he forms into a head pillow.
