It happens all the time is the sad truth. Some men and women alike see their conquest as a feather in their hat. Feelings don't come into it. They usually end up being lonely. I really liked your poem. Ulla:)))

I'm surprised that you are a man. And that sounds sexist, sorry. But you show such a great understanding of a woman's point of view that it's amazing! This is a great poem. Your rhyme and rhythm are good, you use very apt words, and your premise is unmistakable. Good Job!

. . . and the good news is that she didn't marry him. Your well-written couplets describe a common situation in which two are on different wave lengths. Sometimes the selfish user is a woman. I don't think a selfish man can hold a light to a selfish woman! :-)

I loved this piece, nomi. It tells of a shallow man. A man simply looking for one thing and one thing only. It seems he was looking for an arm trophy or a bed partner. The sad truth is he may have missed out on a special person.
