That was a wonderful story with a fabulous twist at the end. It seems strange being called aliens, but that's what we are to those living on other planets, and I do believe there are many out there. Well done and good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

I love this story as it represents the true meaning of flash fiction. You can read an entire, satisfying story with a suspenseful challenge for the protagonist and a meaningful resolution with a twist ending. I wish you the best in the contest. This story is definitely a contender.

I liked the clever twist in the last 4 words of this. Probably because I live here on earth, I assume at first they're going from earth to somewhere new.

Very interesting. I see you went for the classic misdirection form of flash fiction. Good idea. I would say, that by using Earth terms, for the aliens, it looses authenticity. Also, as this is told from Mara's POV. How would they know the planet is called Earth?
Just something to consider.

She doesn't know, it's just pointed out to the reader that its earth. It's unknown to the travelers. Not the most original, but an interest of mine. Thanks for reading. :)
