Wow, fresh squeezed grape juice, what a lucky treat. But I'm sure it's unfermented, which allows us to drink more. LOL. Thanks for sharing another fine post.

Lovely... Dovely??? Anyway, your poem is fantastic! And, as always, I loved the image that you settled on. I definitely remember the vineyard. Unless I don't... Anyway, way to be descriptive! Every single line has brilliant vocabulary included. Outstanding!

My dear GGG, I am behind in my replies! I caught a bad cold and have been in bed. Thank you for your faithful reading of my poems. Sending lots and lots of love!

Each if your poems shows your love of family, the house and so precious memories. You now have many readers in love with your house and family, and a little envious for your talent and family.
Best wishes
Mary

Oh, dear Mary, thank you for this kind and most gracious review. The daily poetry challenge this month has stretched me! But I am grateful for the chance to reflect on these memories. Of course, my memory is selective and tends to focus on the positive ones. Your words mean a great deal to me as you are one of my writing heros!

thank you

Wow! I'm impressed that you can get that much juice from your seedless grapes! I grew some grapes once but they were not great for juice.
Loved the personification of the grapevines with its trunk and "outstretched arms."

Oh, it is always such a chore to pick, stem, and steam the grapes. But, come this time of year, it is always worth it.

Gnarly. What a great word. I find it so much more expressive than the related gnarled that we are more used to reading. I am not the greatest expert on Haiku, but this reads well to me , except perhaps the break-point at the end of line two. If you could find a way to end with 'life' I think it would be better.
