I enjoyed reading your last post here on FS. It is filled with information that I had no idea about. I love learning new things. If I find myself in Dallas, I will be sure to visit the Arboretum
I appreciate you sharing your talent with us. Be well and keep writing.

Thank you and best to you! Terry.

So, his crash ended tragically? When given thought firefights, the death march, rescued by submarine, and infantry duty couldn't get the man but a Cessna of L.A.X. did? Be well and thank you.

It is a great idea to describe people whom you met in the real life, especially if they mattered to you. I think it would be better if you dedicated more time to each of your particular protagonists, to help your reader get to know them better.

Terry,
How fascinating! I love intriguing historical pieces on brave, forward-facing folks like this. Amazing how brave and stoical people can be when they have a cause they believe so firmly in.
It's crazy that you should mention the Bataan Death March. We had a member here a while back whose grandfather was a member of that horrid atrocity. He made a post sharing some of the details - which caused me to write a poem. I later submitted an edited version to a website and it was pubbed in a collection of war poems and such. I am so amazed by those survivors. Wow.
This was well-written and engaging. I appreciate your time in creating it. Thank you!

This is an exceptionally interesting story, written with clear details and explanations. I enjoyed reading each slice-of-life short story that revealed how each story was related, and that you knew the people who knew the other people, like Ross Perot. This is an example of incredible storytelling.

What an inspirational story of outstanding lives you have penned for readers! I enjoyed these intersecting biographies very much for their humour, passion, public service, philanthropy, dedication, patriotism and sacrifice. Historical snippets were fascinating.

Why? Better things on offer?
(Here in Australia and New Zealand, The Last Post is a short fanfare, traditionally played on a bugle at military commemorations.)

You sure have connections with a number of interesting and noteworthy people, Terry. I like the way you showed the connections between all of these people, ending with the renaming of the Abilene Army Field Base. Well done.

I tend to stick with fiction as my main reading preference, enjoying the spoofy farces and quirky characters who aren't believable to most. However, I'll make exceptions to the usually dry truths when they are so interesting and well written as yours. Thank you very much for sharing. I wish I had a six.

Thanks, there is another one, you would have to scroll back a bit, it's An American Polar Bear, A true story about WW I and Americans fighting Russians, most folks don't know the story. Terry.

I have to run for tonight but I'll try to find it and check it out tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up!

Very informative, and very well written.
It's always a risk. I well remember the UCMJ. 'Conduct unbecoming' was a very real threat. You didn't have to do anything, really.
Best wishes.
