I loved it already. Love it more because it's dedicated to your son, Ben! Music is essential and those who learn that young make us all more joyful in the process! A delight to read. Maybe we'll see him at the Grammy Awards some year!

You must live in such a lively house, I think. I hope you have a quiet corner for youself somewhere (maybe the shed at the bottm of the garden?). Isn't the cube16 a great form to read and write? Kate xx

It's lively alright, Kate! Too lively, sometimes ;) My quiet corner is my garden - it's where I find my peace...
Thank you so much for your feedback.

Love it, Debra! I'm sure your son will love it, too. Does Ben have long hair as well? Beatlemania! I remember those days very well.
My son, Luke, is just like your son... older, of course. He is a super guitarist, and he also plays the drums. He's 38 now, but when he was still in junior high school, we paid for guitar lessons for about 6 years. He likes to play a lot of James Taylor songs. He has a Martin acoustic electric as well as a classical guitar, plus an assortment of solid body electric guitars (including an ivory-color Gibson SG).
I must try this poetic form, the CUBE 16. Thanks for teaching it! It rocks!
Hugs,
Kimbob

Ah, thanks so much, Kimbob :) Good to hear about your son - he follows in your musical footsteps!
Ben doesn't have long hair, he just had it cut so he can see past his fringe again!
He's getting quite the collection of guitars himself - He has 3 (2 electric and an acoustic) and a bass guitar also... The drum kit is his absolute pride and joy though...
Definitely have a go at the Cube16 - I enjoyed using it :)

This was so much fun! I like that he plays like there is no one there, spending his days with his music. Thanks for sharing this here! Best wishes to you.

What a cute picture! And your CUBE16 poem describes that picture well of a dedicated guitar player, focused on becoming a master at his art.

like noone's there. (no one's?) Unless that's British English

Hello Debra, I don't know the cube16 form but I like this poem very much. It's about the boy in the artwork but it also describes the dedication of talented artistes in every field of creative endeavour. Not forgetting those to whom work is a vocation. Well done.

Stay safe and blessed, Julia

    LOL

It reminded me of Dire Straits, "The Walk of Life". Do you know it?

A most interesting subject to write about. For sure when you are dedicated to music, including guitar, mainly because pianos are too hard to carry around, you do devote every hour to learning scales, and then putting them to work.

You need one more stanza to make it the cube 16, and you're good to go.

A a musician I can relate very well to this.

Much enjoyed. :)
