This chapter deserves a standing ovation and then some!! I love how she steps up to the plate and starts swinging.

Can't wait to read more!

Smiles and hugs, Carol

This work has reached the exceptional level

I read the other day and wanted to come back to it a second time, as the upcoming cremation service for my son has my thoughts and emotions locked. Yet, I found a god piece of writing here. Relaxed , it was as natural as being there. Good flowing scenes, as well I am glad the romance did not develop speedily as thought when reading the first couple of chapters.
Nicely balanced, the scenes outplay with an everyday feel of normality, as if a given point in someone's life.
A very well done.
Six stars deserving, for my last one was saved for this.
My best wishes.
RG

it felt great to read Ali ripping into that sleazy man. I think she is going to shake the small town in her quest for justice. Cordero and Ali are two injured souls and they will naturally gravitate towards each other...

I like the dialogue. What would be a nice idea, would be spending more time in the point of view of one particular person - for instance Alexandra - in order to let the reader know her even more.

I enjoyed this post, as it well written, wildly descriptive and well presented.
I appreciate the author notes, they filled in some of the gaps.
I too have lived in both environments and I echo your sentiment.

Hello BARBARA.WILKEY,
It's an interesting piece of Romance Fiction.
Alexandra's encounter with Pat is worth enjoying as well as inspirational!
These lines are particularly noteworthy:
"Opening her purse, Alexandra took out a handful of cards. "Lisa, here's my card. Call me tomorrow, and we'll sue him. I have a feeling you aren't his only victim. If you can think of other possible victims, please give them my card. I'm going to put a stop to this."
Thumbs Up!

When Alexandra wanted the SUV to go into town. I immediately knew she would run into a sleazy rapist, evil man. And it didn't take long. (actually the hour is too long. They would have been done with four quickies by then.)

You write well, but things are too telegraphed and formulaic. Things just happen at the right time, in the right way, out of the blue and in a stereotypical way. I'm not saying you can't do that. It's your book. Just something to consider.

Morning comes early around here."(Ã?)

I removed the extra character. I wonder if it was there all last week. I'm sure you already know what's going to happen in the rest of this novel. If you have time, I'd like your verson of it, so I know if you're correct. Thank you for sharing.

Oh, the small town tongue waggers can rattle off more stories than the Washington Post and New York Times combined. And most times, there isn't much truth in anything they say. Thanks for sharing.

I loved this chapter, Barbera. It was satisfying to see Ali rip into Pat. This is well written as usual. I enjoyed the fact that Ali is a strong stand-alone girl. Thank for the read.

Thank you for the kind review. Yes, Ali is strong, just not in relationships.

This is another great chapter. You have surprised me with the plot twist. It looks like Ali is going to be a champion for women. Yeah! The picture matches the story. I don't think I mentioned how I appreciate the large font.
