I loved the "butt glue" advice. Somehow that didn't work with my kid who could keep the butt in the chair but the mind went everywhere for hours or she'd forget to turn in the assignment.
Great memories of that well used study in your double etheree!
Congratulations on your 50th post!

Thank you, again, Helen! Hehe, so true. Our minds have to be in the game, too. I still struggle with that when writing!

Thanks for noticing the double etheree. I thought it might depict the two opposing side of our study. Sending lots of good wishes!

ROFL! Butt glue might be the trick we all needed when we just couldn't make ourselves take the time needed to get something done. Now that will sure make an old butt pucker. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

A wonderful poem describing the study where the family enjoyed activities from studying to sewing, writing, and reading. What a wonderful story of a close-knit family and parents who were very active in giving their children every opportunity in life.
Best wishes,
Mary

Congratulations on reaching a poetic milestone. I think this is an excellent initiative on the part of Fanstory, especially for drawing attention to the writing of new members.

I enjoyed wandering around with you in memories of what was a study in the truest sense of that word. A companionable space to be sure, with physical and mental creativity co-existing and no doubt reinforcing both.

The etheree stack has a pleasing shape like the shelving unit you describe.

Love the phrase, "butt glue".

Stay safe and blessed, Julia

Thank you, Julia! It was a fun surprise to reach this milestone! And I am delighted you noticed the etheree stack symbolism to the room! That was intentional; thanks for picking up on that. Have a lovely day! (We are nearing the finish line with our NaPoWriMo poems. :))

Hello Mama Baer :)
Congratulations on your 50th post!
I enjoyed reading your poem.
You describe the study so well, and everything that went on in there.
I also enjoyed reading your author notes :) I never heard of butt glue before LOL - I should 'buy' some for my kids!
Your mum sounds like mine... she used to make our clothes too, when we were small at least - she also made my wedding dress. I think that was when she decided to put the sewing machine away!
Best wishes as always, Debra :)

Oh, Debra, I always enjoy a review from you. Thanks for sharing about your own mother. I cannot begin to imagine fashioning a wedding dress. I would rather read and write, LOL!
