I too remember the nectarine tree... I think. Gramps had so many trees, it's hard to remember just one! I do also remember the plum tree and the apple tree.

Yay! So fun to share memories, GGG. Yes, yummy plum and apple trees, too . . .

Oh, those fresh nectarines, or any fruit grown some place other than hydroponically or under hot-house conditions, so sweet and juicy. About all we get around here are the berries that aren't even sweet, bananas that brown over night, and flavorless tomatoes that are red on the outside, and white and transparent inside. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, man...I love your descriptions about purchased fruits and veggies. Sad, sad. Thanks again, Ric!

Hello Mama Baer :)
I enjoyed reading your poem.
I love nectarines and would love to be able to grow them - unfortunately we don't have the right climate here!
Love your presentation on this one - it's so fruity!
Best wishes as always, Debra

I do like this Whitney. You use the form brilliantly to describe the cycle of the sweet juicy nectarines from blossom to harvest. We have some young apple trees and an apple/pear hybrid in our garden. Not being used to the ways of fruit trees in temperate climates, I was alarmed when they stood there like little sticks during winter. LOL Now they're leafing once again and one precocious little tree actually has apple blossoms.

Stay safe and blessed, Julia

Thank you for stopping by again, Julia! Each cycle around the sun is truly miraculous to me. Plants that seem dead as doorknobs spring to life again. It is always awe inspiring to me.

I can (almost) relate. My grandparents used to have a majestic peach tree and its peaches were always the best. You did a good job describing this; I can almost taste it now. Thanks for sharing!
